Jo qualified as a physiotherapist in 1996 and has worked within the NHS, military, private and sport sectors. Her expertise lies with treating musculoskeletal conditions, particularly the treatment of sports injuries completing a MSc in Sports Physiotherapy in 2013 at the University of Bath.
She has worked within high performance sport as a consultant physiotherapist for the English Institute of Sport since 2008 and combines her work at Pure Physio with the role of Lead Physiotherapist for Great Britain’s Paralympic Shooting Team, travelling extensively worldwide to events, which includes World Championships, European Championships and the Paralympic Games in London 2012 and Rio 2016.
Jo has also worked at numerous other sports events such the inaugural Invictus Games 2014, Paralympic World Cups, UIPM (Modern Pentathlon) World Cup, London Marathon, British Transplant Games and British Universities Championships covering a range of sports such as archery, basketball, canoeing, hockey, judo, rugby, swimming, trampolining and wheelchair basketball to name a few.
Jo enjoys working with people of all ages and abilities to optimise their health and performance and is able to offer the additional services of musculoskeletal screening for sports participation (e.g. return to play fitness testing, pre-participation screening), taping (including kinesio-taping), exercise rehabilitation, pilates, sports massage and acupuncture.
